Starting a new book is like stepping off aboat onto the sands of adventure. Sometimes it is rough, and other times it is your map, always with you. But like most explorers, when I step into a book, just like they step onto a new land, I don't give up by the look of the first few steps. I keep going. If the book doesn't get better in a few chapters and I don't have to read it, it usually ends up in a lonely corner, or back on the library bookshelf. Whatever the case, I try to keep my mind open about the book and keep reading.
When my life is on the hectic side and I can't find a spot to read, I tell myself to deal with it. This is to my dismay though, because I will go to the page I had left off at and it will look like a foreign country to me. Why do I do this? I have an assignment to finish or I am dug deep in a book. Either that or I am too stubborn, or lazy, to ask if the noisemaker could keep it down a little. The truth is that I read the best when it is quiet and I can keep my thoughts to myself.
I have different reading styles, it depends on the mood I am in. The most common reading styles I read are ones that make me motivated, like an amazing war story or great sports comeback. The style is flowing, because it is hard for me to read a book that is in bits and peices. I like really serious writing or really comical writing, but like I said, it depends on the day.
I read fiction because I like to be suprised, astonished, and questioned in a book. What is the fun of reading if you don't care about it? I thoroughly enjoy fiction and nothings better than a book on the couch with a snack. Fiction is the outlook through a window to a whole nother world, it is very exciting. That is why I read fiction, to stimulate my imagination.
Thank you for reading my blog.
